Napule of Peoples
Invited to Naples by the Art1307 Cultural Institution for the opening of my exhibition and a month-long residency, I discovered the city slowly bit by bit, day by day. At some point, Italo Calvino's novel 'Invisible Cities’ came to my mind. He depicted towns as live and real as human experiences of death, love, etc. I felt that, in a way, I could present Naples by giving its streets, houses, monuments, and public infrastructure the right to be on its own as an ever-present creature. Then juxtapose it with ever-changing inhabitants who fill the city structure with the energy of bustling life, diverse culture, and unabated vibrancy.
